Want to raise chickens in the backyard and be self-sufficient, but put off by all the fussy details of raising them?

Kaleter's small family mobile chicken house is built for exactly that: home and backyard flocks. It is sized right, fully featured, and simple to operate, balancing the flock's comfort with how much work it takes to keep, so even a first-time keeper can raise chickens well.

A size built for home flocks

This mobile chicken house is built around a compact footprint with high capacity, sized to fit a home yard, small courtyard, or open plot without taking up much space, and it can be placed wherever is convenient.

Overall dimensions are 1.75 meters long, 1.75 meters wide, and 1.9 meters tall.

The layout and floor-to-floor height keep the space from feeling cramped, and it holds up to 40 birds comfortably, enough for most household-scale flocks, whether that's everyday raising or a smaller batch. The whole unit can also be moved as one piece, so the flock can be relocated to fresh ground whenever needed, keeping them away from the bacteria buildup that comes with staying in one place too long.

Two levels for a more active flock

The house uses a two-level layout, with a roosting rack and a dedicated ladder built in as standard, giving the flock its own space to move around in.

Birds move freely between the two levels using the ladder, staying active and roosting on their own, which adds up to noticeably more movement. A more active flock grows stronger and more evenly and resists disease better, and it shows in the results: firmer meat and better egg quality.

The ladder also folds away. At night or during peak laying periods, folding it up closes off the lower level, keeping the flock together on the upper floor to roost and lay undisturbed. That raises the laying rate and cuts down on dirty or broken eggs.

Eggs collect themselves

The dedicated laying box has an outward-sloped floor, so once an egg is laid it rolls down on its own and slides smoothly to a cushioned curtain at the edge, with no cracking or knocking along the way.

There's no need to reach into the nest or disturb the flock. Eggs can be collected straight from the outside, which is clean and quick, and it does away with bending over to search the nest or getting hands dirty. Even a beginner or an older person can manage it easily.

Feeding without opening the cage

Daily feeding is often a hassle, and opening the cage risks letting birds escape. This design solves both problems.

The house comes standard with a dedicated feed bucket and water bucket, keeping the flock fed and watered around the clock. It also has an external feed port that connects straight through to the feed bucket.

Feed can be topped up from outside without opening the main door, so daily feeding doesn't disturb the flock and there's no risk of birds getting out or getting startled. That roughly doubles feeding efficiency and makes day-to-day care easier.

No more manure mess

One of the biggest headaches in raising chickens is the mess and smell of cleaning up droppings. This house is designed from the ground up to solve that.

The whole floor uses high-density slatted flooring, so droppings fall through the gaps naturally into a collection tray underneath, keeping the upper living area dry and clean at all times. That cuts down on bacteria and insects, which lowers the flock's disease risk.

The collection tray is an optional add-on that can be fitted as needed. Cleaning just means sliding the tray out to rinse it, instead of washing out the inside of the house repeatedly. That saves time and effort and keeps things clean and odor-free, a step up from how messy traditional chicken raising can be.

Vents that double as windows

The roof has vents that open and close freely, so airflow can be adjusted to match the weather and temperature.

In hot, humid weather, opening the vents speeds up air exchange and clears out moisture and odor, keeping the house from turning damp or moldy. In cold weather, closing them helps hold in warmth, so the house works across all four seasons.

The vents double as viewing windows, so the flock's eating, roosting, and general condition can be checked anytime without opening the house. That makes daily monitoring easier and helps catch problems early.
